Biography
Christopher J Baran, known as CJ Baran, is a writer/producer based in Los Angeles. He is the co-founder of future theatre company Woolf and the Wondershow and co-creator/writer of CAGES in which he also plays the lead character Woolf.
He has produced and written songs for Panic! At The Disco, Melanie Martinez, Carly Rae Jepsen, MIKA, COIN, K. Flay amongst many others.

After over 5 years of development, Woolf and the Wondershow opened their first musical experience, CAGES in 2019 in Downtown Los Angeles. Baran wrote, produced and created CAGES alongside longtime writing/business partner Benjamin Romans. The show takes place in a converted warehouse the team built out into the dystopian world of Anhedonia where emotions are forbidden and hearts are locked in cages.
CAGES has been noted as a “game-changer” by the Los Angeles Times and a “breathtaking experience” that blends Broadway, pop music and film. As described by Forbes, CAGES “is one part Les Mis, another part Kanye West, a dash of Broadway here, and a sprinkle of cinema there – all mixed together in an entirely new kind of immersive blender complete with earth-shattering sound.”
